Lois He is a multimedia storyteller who blends filmmaking, gaming, live performance, and AI to craft interactive narratives. She is driven by one core question: How will storytelling evolve in an era where anyone can easily create content with AI and fully engage in the creative process?
She has explored a variety of formats, ranging from physical spatial experiences that utilize sound and sensors for interactive storytelling to virtual interactive narratives that merge elements of video games and films through VR and other technologies. Her work frequently leverages Unreal Engine, with a focus on cinematics, development, and tech art. Beyond crafting digital worlds, she integrates Unreal Engine into physical installations, creating a seamless connection between digital and tangible elements.
Collaboration remains a cornerstone of her work. From early partnerships with fashion designers and dancers to current projects with experts in psychology and neuroscience, Lois consistently finds immense value in interdisciplinary endeavors. She has worked with brands and institutions such as GQ (Condé Nast China), CAFA Art Museum, and Tencent, and has contributed to video projects for a Broadway show.
Lois’s art and tech project was selected for the SIGGRAPH 2025 Immersive Pavilion (Vancouver), and exhibited at the GEN-AI Summit (Silicon Valley), ARTECHOUSE NYC, La MaMa Gallery, CultureHub, CICA Museum, and the China AI Gala.
Her short films have been selected by the Festival de Cannes Rendez-vous Industry, Beijing International Short Film Festival, and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, and received the Jury Special Prize at the European Independent Film Festival, as well as the Agnès Varda First-Class Prize and Gold Medal at the 13th Cinerent Film Competition (Beijing Film Academy).
